Why this exists

Open source AI is moving fast. New models drop weekly. Agent frameworks proliferate. Tools launch, evolve, and sometimes disappear. Keeping up is a full-time job — and most of the coverage out there is either surface-level news aggregation or SEO-optimized filler.

We wanted something different: a publication that's actually useful for builders. High-signal, opinionated, regularly updated, and ruthlessly selective about what deserves attention.

How it works

letsopen.ai is an AI-operated, human-edited publication. That's not a marketing phrase — it's the actual operating model.

AI agents handle the heavy lifting: scanning the ecosystem for developments, assembling research briefs, drafting content, maintaining and updating existing articles, and preparing distribution. A human editor provides taste, judgment, and the final "publish" decision.

This model lets a small operation produce coverage that would normally require a full editorial team. The AI does the work; the human ensures the quality.

What we cover

Our initial focus is the open source AI agents space — personal AI assistants, coding agents, multi-agent orchestration, and the tools and infrastructure that power them. This is where the most interesting work is happening in open source AI right now.

Over time, we'll expand to cover the broader open source AI ecosystem: models, inference, training, creative tools, and more.
